Film-making Exploits
My partner Barrett and I have been working with a fabulous cast and crew for the past ten years to make movies. Our film-making exploits precede our purchase of a digital camera and unfortunately such classics as Locked Out, The Rose, & Poisioned are not yet available on the web. However, our more recent films can be viewed here.
World's Fastest Librarian -- Was made while I was at library school. Picked up more great cast and crew members during the shooting.
This film had big premier at UW-SLIS complete with a red carpet for the stars, was shown at the Wisconsin Library Association, was Library Link of the Day, was ranked 3rd on Google Video in the U.S. (made various top ten lists on worldwide Google lists), and got many interesting comments on worldwide sites -- my favorite was on a British site that said they'd started a cult of Mary, not the Virgin Mary, but Mary, the World's Fastest Librarian. Check out the TWFL Web site for more info.
Les Chaussures -- A dedication to my perfect new boots recommended by the fabulous Kristin Daly of HarperCollins at my writers group's spring weekend editor retreat. (Great writing critiques and fashion tips! Could we have chosen a better editor????)
Teen Summer Library Program Film -- Not quite in our usual style, but this was a nice partnership with my library to help promote summer reading for teens.
More to come!
The cast and crew are batting around a couple of ideas for our next
film. We have not yet decided which story would be the most fun to
make. Alternative Careers in Librarianship (much funnier idea than it
sounds) or Delia Gold, Pirate Hunter? We might have to shoot the
first scene of each and put it to a vote.
