Election Day

Today is the day! For everyone who did not vote early (which was truly fabulous btw), today is the day to get out there and vote. I hope everyone reading this is planning to take part in this world we live in and cast their ballot.

Also, you should all read With Courage and Cloth: Winning the Fight for a Woman’s Right to Vote by the lovely Ann Bausum. If you have any doubts on whether or not it’s important to vote, they will quickly disappear. What those women went through to get the right to do something that half of Americans don’t even bother to do — truly amazing. It’s a great book and should be required reading for everyone. In the world.

Happy election day everyone!

Bridget

  1. I’m putting that book on my holds list, and am currently awaiting the arrival of “Iron Jawed Angels.” Thanks for the recommendation. By the way, there are some episodes in season 2 of “Upstairs, Downstairs” that deal with women’s suffrage in England. They’re intense.

  2. Hi Bridget! I agree, Ann’s book is fantastic and really shows the battles those women went through to get the right to vote. I had my daughters read it!

  3. I have not see IRON JAWED ANGELS — it’s out on DVD? Or Upstairs, Downstairs. I’ll have to check them out!
I’m so glad you had your daughters read Ann’s book, Judy! It’s such a great one.
Adrienne, I can’t believe you made the party potatoes! How did they turn out?
